CMA qualification is highly respected by employers in India. You gain expertise to pursue a career in Finance, Management accounting, Internal Audit, Taxation and Operations management. Top MNCs in India prefer a CMA to lead their unit and aid in Decision making.
ICAI (Cost) has MoU with ACCA UK, CIMA UK, IPA Australia and IIA (Institute of Internal Auditors) India. MoU provides CMA members exemptions to gain those qualifications, which enables one to seek global opportunities.
There a 3 levels - Foundation, Intermediate and Final.
Student has to pass one level to move on to the next.
Degree holders get an exemption from Foundation level, i.e. they can directly start from Intermediate level.
-Any student who has completed +2/Passed National diplona by AICTE can register for foundation level.
-Any undergraduate degree holder, Engineering degree holder, Masters degree holder can register for Intermediate level directly.
-Any student who has passed foundation exams of ICSI, Intermediate exams of ICAI (CA), Final exams if ACCA UK, Final exams of CIMA UK, Final exams of Institute of Chartered accountants of UK can register for Intermediate level directly.
-Every Intermediate level student should take up Practical Training so as to complete atleast 10 months before appearing for Final examinations and a total of atleast 15 months before declaration of their final examination results. (Previous work experience will be considered)
-One should prove a minimum of 3 years work experience to obtain memebership of the Institute opst qualification of Final level. (Practical Training/Previous work experience will be considered)
